Students: Please contact Mrs. Frey through Remind. When there is an issue, the student should be the person to contact Mrs. Frey.  Don't wait for your parents to email...handle your communication yourself.

Emails and Remind messages will be read and replied to from 8am-4pm.  Mrs. Frey will be available each day M-Th  to tutor, answer questions, and help troubleshoot any technology issues. Student tutoring (live or through Google Meet) is available from 3:00-4:15 pm by appointment.  Send Mrs. Frey a Remind message to make an appointment.  There is also a department wide tutoring schedule posted on the math bulletin board.  Feel free to go to any of the subject teachers for tutoring.

All daily assignments will be managed in Google Classroom. You will not be turning things in through Google Classroom, but using it more as an information and organization tool.  You will find weekly learning plans, links to important resources, and solutions to notes and homework all in Google Classroom.
Here are the Google Classroom codes:
AP Precalculus:  445ko53
Enhanced AP Preclalculus:  xbot4h2
Geometry: att3d3q

Parents: Please contact Mrs. Frey via email only after your child has had their own correspondence with Mrs. Frey via Remind. Please feel free to join the Remind class as well so that you see important announcements.  The students will be managing their learning through Google Classroom, so if you want to see the list of upcoming assignments, you will need to ask them to open their Google Classroom for you.   [email protected]

In Columbia County Schools, each semester is a grading period. New this year is the structure of how grades are calculated: there are no longer grades taken at the end of a quarter.  Instead, your semester grade will fluctuate all semester long for the entire 18 weeks. Credit will be awarded at the end of the semester just like we always have done. There are 2 semesters in a school year. Unique to GHS math courses, if you fail one semester, you will not be allowed to continue in the math sequence of classes until you pass that course by retaking it the next semester or in summer school.

Your semester grade will be calculated as 40% from assignments and 60% from assessments.  This is also a change from last year as assignments were not graded last year. You will need to maintain good work habits daily so that your assignment category (in-class work, Delta Math assignments, ALEKS assignments) is high as well as prepare for assessments (quizzes and tests). Each test will be worth twice as much as a quiz.

Reassessment policy: tests can be reassessed after you have competed all homework assignments and have reached a mastery grade of at least 50% for that unit in ALEKS.  It is best to complete those assignments along the way to check your understanding as you are learning the material and this should keep you from needing to reassess.  If you do need to reassess, only students that made below a 90 can reassess and your max grade will only be replaced up to a 90. The deadline to reassess is before the next in-class test.

80% of your grade comes from your cumulative semester grade and 20% is the semester exam.

Please see the Columbia County assessment procedure for more details.
