Grading Procedure

Each semester will have a grade that is 40% formative assessments (Assignments, etc.) and 60% Summative Assessments (Quizzes and Tests). Each test carries twice the weight of a quiz.

Semester Average :Your semester average will be calculated by weighing the semester grade at 80% and the semester exam grade at 20%.

Benchmark Tests will be each quarter and are 5% of the Assessment category. To achieve a high score in your assignment categories—such as in-class work, Delta Math tasks, DESMOS, and ALEKS assignments , it's essential to develop strong daily work habits. This will also aid in your preparation for assessments, including quizzes, tests, and benchmarks.

Reassessment Procedure:

Tests can be reassessed after you have competed the required reassessment assignment. The deadline to reassess is BEFORE the next in-class assessment. If you reassess, your max grade will only be replaced up to a 90%. Quizzes are not reassessed, they can be replaced with the original test scores that assess the same standards up to a 90%.

A 90-100%

B 80-89%

C 73-79%

D 70-72%

F below 70%

How to contact Dr. Peters

Parents: Please contact Dr. Peters via ParentSquare or e-mail only after your child has had their own correspondence with Dr.Peters via ParentSquare or e-mail. Please feel free to use the Parent Square as well so that you see important announcements. The students will be managing their learning through Google Classroom, so if you want to see the list of upcoming assignments, I have provided the calendar in the link above.

Students:

Please reach out to Dr. Peters via Parent Square or e-mail. If you encounter any issues, you should contact Dr Peters directly. All students are automatically added to my ParentSquare account through Infinite Campus, so ensure your notifications are enabled (either by email or cell phone). Remember, you MUST log in using your school credentials.

Emails and ParentSquare messages will be reviewed and responded to between 8 AM and 4 PM, typically within 24 hours. Dr. Peters is available on ParentSquare and by email each day from Monday to Thursday to address questions and assist with any technology issues.

Student tutoring for Geometry is available on Thursdays from 2:45 PM to 3:15 PM. Additionally, a department-wide tutoring schedule will be posted on the math bulletin board. You are welcome to visit any Geometry teacher for tutoring throughout the week.

All daily assignments and class notes will be organized in Google Classroom through my daily calendar. While you will not submit assignments via Google Classroom, it will serve as a tool for information and organization. Weekly learning plans, links to important resources, and solutions to notes and homework can all be found in Google Classroom.

IF YOU ARE ABSENT, check the calendar to review what you missed; you are responsible for all information. Blank copies of notes will also be available in class, and any handouts can be found on the front table in the classroom.
