Columbia County Exam Exemption Policy:
Students who wish to exempt any exams must clear all fines and lunch charges. All overdue materials assigned to the student must be turned in and/or all fees paid before permission to exempt is granted.
Students who have no disciplinary referrals that result in out-of-school suspension or in-school suspension may exempt qualifying exams as follows:
- Students in grades 9-11 can exempt only one final exam per semester. To exempt the final exam, the student must have an unweighted 90 average or higher with a maximum of 5 excused absences or an unweighted 85 average or higher with 3 excused absences.
- Seniors can exempt a final exam in a course with an unweighted 90 average or higher with a maximum of 5 excused absences or an unweighted 85 average or higher with 3 excused absences.
- UNEXCUSED ABSENCES=NO EXEMPTION
Greenbrier High School Student Steps for Exemption:
- Verify that you have met grade, discipline, and attendance criteria in the class(es) you want to exempt.
- You must get cleared for all fines through Mrs. Bell or Mrs. Barksdale in the Media Center. Once cleared, you will have the opportunity to fill out a Google Form in the Media Center at designated computers to submit classes you wish to exempt.
- If you need to make any changes before May 14th email Mr. Jones (Registrar) [email protected].
- Filling out this form DOES NOT guarantee that you will exempt that exam and only is a request on your part.
