MCV4 BOOSTER Vaccination Requirement for 11th GRADERS School Year 25/26

Parent or Guardian:

GA law requires all 11th graders to have a MCV4 BOOSTER at 16 years old.  Proof of a second meningococcal vaccination (MCV4) is required. If your student is currently 16 years old, they are eligible now to get the MCV4 booster.   We strongly recommend getting the vaccination as soon as possible to avoid the summer rush.

When your student turns 16 years old on or after the first day of school, August 4 2025, the MCV4 booster will be required within 30 calendar days after their 16th birthday to continue school enrollment.

Meningococcal disease is a serious bacterial illness that affects the brain and the spinal cord. Meningitis can cause shock, coma and death within hours of the first symptoms. To help protect your children and others from meningitis, Georgia law requires students to be vaccinated against this disease, unless the child has an exemption.

If you have any questions, please contact your healthcare provider, Eisenhower Army Medical Center, the Public Health Department (706-868-3330) or your school nurse.

Thank you!
