Frankenstein Discussion - through Chapter 11
1) Ice is re-introduced as a motif in Chapter 10. Discuss the effect of the mountains, ice, and glaciers as a setting on which Victor and the Monster meet again. How is this appropriate? How does it enhance the themes of the novel? (Ask yourselves, why did Shelley choose this setting for the meeting of the Creator and his Created?)
2) Note the Monster's diction in his first conversation with Victor - what does this tell you as a reader about him as a creature? How valid do you see his points and his arguments on pg 94-95? What about Victor's responses?
